Evolution of the global LNG carrier fleet
These graphs show the evolution of the global LNG carrier fleet : annual vessels commissioned, total number of LNG carriers in service and average capacity.
The implementation of new LNG carriers remains important with 53 new vessels in 2018.
At the same time, the average capacity of the LNG carriers increased to reach more than 171,000 m3 in 2017, which corresponds to the authorized limit of the Panama Canal since its widening.
