Evolution of domestic prices for gas and electricity

These curves represent the evolution of domestic prices of natural gas and electricity for France and the EU-27 average over the period 1995-2021.

Analysis

Unlike electricity, the price of natural gas for private end consumers in France follows the European trend.

The domestic price of gas MWh is lower than the electricity MWh, the difference being mainly explained by the difference in yields and economic performance of each link in the value chains.
